03.21.2012 MP Parm Gill Unveils His 10-Point Action Plan
Brampton-Springdale, Ontario: The Conservative Government believes in actively responding to the needs of entire communities by addressing local concerns and calls for action. Parm Gill, Member of Parliament for Brampton-Springdale, recently unveiled his own 10-Point Action Plan, which was developed after numerous consultations and discussions with his constituents.
One of the plan’s primary goals is to support the needs of special groups and improve community safety. For example, MP Gill recently introduced Bill C-394, An Act to Amend the Criminal Code and National Defence Act (Criminal Organization Recruitment), to protect youth from gang recruitment.
“Our youth are the future of our community and we are responsible for creating a safe environment for them to grow up in,” said Parm Gill. “At the same time, we need to pay equal attention to those who have helped build our community and made it what it is today.”
That’s why Parm is continuing to support the New Horizons for Seniors Program, which assists projects led or inspired by seniors who want to make a difference in the community. Similarly, he strongly supports our Government’s recent creation of the Helmets to Hardhats Program, designed to assist members of the Canadian Armed Forces in their transition back to civilian life by finding them quality jobs.
This 10-Point Action Plan also prioritizes community advancement and promotes local infrastructure development that will provide Bramptonians with new opportunities for the future. For instance, Parm is committed to working with his municipal and provincial counterparts to bring a university to Brampton. Furthermore, he is continuing to work with smaller businesses, City Hall, and Brampton’s Board of Trade in an effort to continue the city’s economic successes
“A community is defined by its people, but it also needs a system of sustainable and reliable programs and initiatives that provide its citizens with the best opportunities,” said Parm Gill. “By outlining clear objectives and working closely with the community we have the ability to collectively address issues that have been raised across this city.”
Parm Gill has always believed that open communication, accessibility, and reliability are traits that define democracy in Canada. As he continues to address the concerns of his constituents with his new 10-Point Action Plan, he will remain committed to maintaining open channels of communication between his offices and his constituents. Most importantly, this initiative offers his community members direct involvement in numerous initiatives, while remaining transparent and accountable to the people he represents.
